A six movement suite depicting the fictional growing up of a girl into a mature woman. Lush with contemporary jazz harmonies and extended tonalities and modulations. Movements are: "None of the Below", ""Reclusive", "Mellifluous", "Bedazzled". "Sultry", and "All of the Above". Movement titles by choreographer Nancy Smith (Boulder, Colorado). 7 min. Piano. "Anasazi Dance" (1980).
Tone painting on a dream occurance of the Anasazi Indians of the American Southwest coming to life in an 800-year-old ceremony. A-B-A form: A being the background sounds of the canyon wind and indigenous bird calls; B being the ceremony growing out of the natural surrounding. Programmatic notes included. 5 min.
